The Best Toronto Flea Markets [2023]

Every flea market in Toronto is a little different. Some specialize in certain classes of items, such as home furnishings, while others offer a wider selection. However, they all have one thing in common: they’re great places to find items that might not be available anywhere, even in specialty stores.

Flea markets are more than just places to find replacement parts — you can find unique gifts, collectibles, and much more.

Bargaining is a fact of life at flea markets. Unless the vendor directly tells you that the price is final and non-negotiable (which is rare), the first quote you hear is not the lowest price. You can save real money by offering fair prices that can save you tens or hundreds of dollars. Vendors are often happy to get things off their hands, so they will probably offer a good deal if you buy more.

It is important to bring cash as some vendors do not accept credit or debit cards. Although many vendors accept checks, cash is more common.

Summary

Why do people shop at flea markets?

One of the main reasons people love shopping at flea markets is because they can find unique items that are often not available at regular retail stores. Flea market vendors typically sell a wide variety of goods, including vintage clothes, antique furniture, and handmade crafts. In addition, many flea markets offer great bargains on new or gently used items.

“The Flea market is an experience, loved the vibe. It's a tucked away gem that is a micro version of Kensington market. Hip items, truly local products & engenders the same artisan feel the neighborhood is so well known for, it was well put together. Gravel walk way down a corridor between buildings it's a special surprise. So many hand crafted items from jewelry, art, spices to Kambucha. No big crowds and easy to walk through, vendors are happy to talk about their wares. The booths change each week, some are more regular, so keep in mind if you want to buy items. Some samples of food items were available. I suggest you go early, merchandise is limited in quantity & sell out fast as they are artisan made. There was music playing in the market, a happy environment & an overall pleasurable experience. Lots of local places to eat if you want to have a day of it.... Great day, date location. Parking is available in the area or on Spidina, also accessible by TTC.”
