This is a 3.5 km trail found in Markham. This lovely paved path is best if you’re looking to take a quiet walk into nature. The trail is open all year round and you can hear the crashing sound of water as you explore the area. While this is an easy trail that’s perfect for all skill levels, there is still an elevation gain of 2.4 m at this trail. This is a quiet place found in a surprisingly busy area of Toronto with beautiful scenery and stunning trails that’s perfect for a weekend getaway.

This tree-filled park is found along the Don river at 250 Duncan Mill Rd. There are many ways to get here. If you are driving, the ON 401 W has an exit near the park. The Ellesmere Rd is also another way to get here. For anyone preferring to take the TTC, we recommend taking the 122 bus to Valleybrooke Dr. The stop is just 2 minutes away from the park. You can also take the 925 bus to Graydon Hall Dr, which is only an 8 min walk from the park.

The Betty Sutherland Trail Park is named after a former member of the City Council. She cared about improving the park system in Toronto. For 13 years, she served as the elected representative; it was her mission to improve the recreational activities in Toronto. The Betty Sutherland Trail Park was named after her on March 1, 1988, just 3 years after she retired from the North York Council.

The trail runs along part of the East Don River and has 4 bike trails to ride in. People don’t just come to hike in this area, they also come to see the wildlife here. Some of the wildlife you’ll find in this trail includes deer, birds, squirrels, and more. Bird Watching is also among one the popular activities on this trail. You’ll also find many wildflowers in the area. Not only are they colourful, but they also make for some nice photos as well.
