Edwards Gardens, located adjacent to Toronto Botanical Garden, provides a nature-safe haven for visitors in North York. The garden was named after its former owner, Rupert Edwards, who cultivated and transformed the land into a beautiful garden. He later on sold his garden to the Toronto City Council in order to preserve the estate as a public park, which officially opened in 1956. This garden currently has a large green space, trails, creeks, wildflowers, as well as a botanical garden, for the general public to enjoy. If you become tired of your local parks, make sure to visit Edwards Gardens to refresh at any time of year.

Things To Do

Edwards Gardens is a nature reserve that is beautiful all year round, although many people like to visit the park at the end of summer and in the fall. Relaxing among the green space and appreciating the greenery that surrounds the area is one of the garden’s primary attractions. The garden features several benches and grills for a great family picnic day, as well as a café (TBG Bloom cafe) for light snacks and beverages. The large trees provide plenty of shade and are the perfect spot for a quick nap session.

The garden has several clean trails for walking and biking (Wilket Creek Recreational Trail) that are easy to get lost in. The artistically shaved hedges also are nice to walk around. There’s a lovely small creek running beneath the bridge that’s excellent for a photoshoot, especially wedding photography. Other sights to see include stone sculptures (Bull Elephant and Balancing Act), a fountain, as well as a pergola that is ideal for shade, photography, or a date idea.
