Yelp/Owen R.
Address: 66 Edward St, Toronto, ON M5G 1C9
Phone: +16478721336
This hand-pulled noodle shop is tucked away in the bustling downtown on Edward and Young St. The location makes it a favourite destination for many downtown tourists, especially Ryerson University students. The proprietor of the restaurant Li, along with his wife Alina Bai, has brought the delectable Lamian specialty from Lanzhou to Toronto in order to preserve the tradition that has been passed down in his wife’s family for centuries. If you are looking for a casual, fast-paced restaurant with some of the finest noodles in town, GB is the place to go.

Yelp/Yunny H
GB is a simple, cozy, and busy noodle shop that anyone looking for a tasty noodle would love. GB has an open kitchen, so you can watch your noodles being made directly behind the counter. The restaurant is old-school Asian-style, with no flashy design and limited clean seating areas with dining stools for some alone time.

GB offers authentic Chinese noodles in a variety of thicknesses, although many customers like the thick noodles for the texture and chewiness. On a chilly or windy day, their popular Special Lanzhou Beef Noodles topped with cilantro come with a soup base that is large in serving size, flavourful, and soothing. If you’re a vegan, you can also try their veggie noodle option, which comes with vegetable broth. Their cold beverages, such as ginger ale or iced tea, are perfect for cooling off after slurping hot noodles. It’s also fun to try one of their unique beverages, such as chrysanthemum tea or Chinese herbal tea.
Even though their toppings of pork and beef are tender and tasty, we would really like to see additional topping alternatives. Also, keep in mind that the restaurant has a long wait time and is packed during lunch hours, so arrive early if you are hungry.

GB is a must-visit if you happen to be downtown and are craving some hand-pulled noodles with big portion sizes. Even if you are unable to finish it, their meal tastes better the next day. You can also order online if you don’t want to wait in line, or you can come to enjoy this delectable hot steaming bowl that is perfect for cozy late-night eats.
