HTO is one of our favourite harbourfront hangouts. This park can be found on Queens Quay W near the CN Tower. The beach features concrete benches, colourful beach chairs, and stationary umbrellas that are great for both sun and winter snow protection. The beach provides a beautiful view of Lake Ontario as well as a nice lawn to sunbathe during the summer months. If you don’t like the sandy feeling, there is also a walking trail that you can enjoy along the shoreline. The park is conveniently located near various facilities and dining places in one of the busiest and vibrant downtown areas, so come join the crowd.

Things To Do

One of the main things you can do at this park is relaxing on the sandy beach and enjoying the lakeside scenery; however, swimming is not permitted. If you are not a beach lover, you can take a nice walk down the shore, especially at night, which is ideal for collecting thoughts and getting some fresh air. There is also a lawn where you can relax and have a picnic.
This area is popular throughout the summer and on weekends. Here you will find many people engaged in water activities, such as kayaking and boating. The park has a nearby boat and canoe rental facility that is perfect for exploring Lake Ontario.
Not only that, but you can also enjoy watching planes take off and land at Billy Bishop while sipping on a nice cup of coffee from a nearby shop.
HTO is one of many spots in Toronto where you can watch the ideal sunset. The sunsets from the beach are breathtaking, and you can sometimes hear jazz music playing nearby, which adds to the mood. If you stay late at night (which you should), the city feels different, and the view of the CN Tower is so close which you don’t want to miss.
Bike riding is another popular activity in the park. There is a nearby bike station, which is great for exploring the park and getting a nice workout with your friends on the Martin Goodman Trail.

Parking

There is plenty of paid parking around the park. 350 Queens Quay E has a parking lot with 65 spaces that cost $5.50 per hour. The parking lot is available seven days a week and accepts cash and credit cards. There are other nearby paid parking spots available, but the prices go up from here.
If you’re in downtown Toronto and don’t want to travel far to get to a beach, HTO is an excellent choice and a must-see. HTO Park is conveniently located and easy to get to. There is a union station nearby, as well as streetcars that arrive fast. Despite the fact that the sand beach is small in comparison to the other beaches in Toronto, it is a popular summer destination with a variety of food options nearby. Even though the beach has a lot of young adult visitors, it is a fantastic place for people of all ages and even your pets.
