Khabib Nurmagomedov is the first Muslim to win a UFC title and has used his platform to promote the teachings of Islam on the biggest stage. He is also one of Russia’s most popular athletes, with over 33 million followers on Instagram.
The event was a huge success and attracted a large crowd of fans who were eager to hear what the undefeated UFC champion had to say. During his appearance, Khabib shared some interesting insights into his career and answered questions from the audience. His candid comments gave attendees a unique opportunity to gain insight into one of MMA’s most celebrated fighters.
During the interview, Khabib Nurmagomedov explained that he won’t partner with alcohol or gambling companies because money is not everything. He has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be associated with companies that do nothing but focus on making money at the expense of his health and well-being. He wants to be remembered for more than just winning fights and making cash endorsements deals; rather, he’d like people to remember him for setting positive examples for young athletes.
Khabib also named during the interview a few fighters who he would fight with but never happened, Tony Ferguson, George St.Pierre and Anthony Pettis.
Khabib Nurmagomedov also discussed his biggest life goals outside of MMA during the interview. One of these goals is to spend time with family. This goal reflects Khabib’s commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with his loved ones, which was highlighted in his post-fight comments following UFC 229 where he expressed gratitude for all the support he has received from fans and family members.
When being asked the question why was it important for him to honour his promise to his mom that his last fight would be UFC 254, he said “you only have one mother”. And that he keeps other promises to his mother too, but this is the one that everyone knows about. He believes in keeping a good relationship with parents.
During the last Rapid Fire Questions part, Khabib also expressed his concerns over the young generation obsessing over video games that it wastes time and kills brains. He then continues “ you can buy all the video games, but you can’t buy time”.
The event drew a large crowd of fans and media, and Khabib answered questions about his career, his training regime, and his life goals outside the MMA world. His candid responses showed off not only his fighting skills but also his personality and character. This highly popular event will surely be an unforgettable experience for all who attended it!
