Marilyn Bell Park, located near the lakefront, is one of Toronto’s greatest parks. The park was named after a 16-year-old girl who was the first to swim across Lake Ontario. This historical park is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the lake breeze. As Torontonians, we all love great spots with nice views and what better place to enjoy a nice view than from a spot that is also a park? If you’re bored of sitting at home or visiting your local park, come to Marilyn Bell Park for a new vibe and a change of scenery.
Things To Do

One of the park’s greatest attractions is its benches. They are located just in front of the lake and are ideal for watching the sunset, the lake, or the skyline, giving a nice getaway from the hectic city. You can also do picnics, yoga or meditation activity while enjoying the fresh lake air.
The park is also nice for night walks, with a serene view of the lake and the Toronto skyline. It can get chilly during the winter, so be sure to bring appropriate clothing.
The park features a disc golf course that is ideal for beginners or pros to practice on, although most expert players find it less challenging. The golf course includes nine holes with broad grass fields and minimal trees, making it perfect for a family outing. Make sure to play without disturbing others, since there are others in the area who will not be participating in the game.

The Martin Goodman Trail also cuts through the park, which is a popular trail for biking. Other activities available in the park include tennis (4 tennis courts), canoeing, and barbeque.
Biodiversity

The park is a great place to watch birds because it’s close to the lake. Common bird species you can see at Marilyn Bell Park are Mallards, seagulls and Canada goose. There are other frogs, such as the American Toad, which are common toad species in Canada.
Parking

The park is conveniently located along Lake Shore Blvd West, making it easy for pick up or drop-off, especially if you’re calling an Uber. However, if you are driving and need a parking spot, there is one across the lakefront at the ovo centre or the Liberty Grand. There is also additional paid parking near the tennis courts on Net Drive.
Additional information
- Washroom available ( pay per use)
- Bike share available near the tennis courts
- Watch for pedestrians if you are biking
Marilyn Bell Park is a one-of-a-kind park ideal for seeing seagulls, getting some fresh air, and watching people cycle and stroll by. If you love being in nature and near water, this area will provide you with the peace of mind you need.
