Pho Pad Thai is a staple for locals in the Markham area for Thai and Vietnamese cuisines. Their name alone already tells what kind of dishes they are known for. It’s not hard to miss the restaurant, with its distinctive elephant logo in a bright yellow colour. This cozy restaurant is open every day from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and extends to 10 p.m. for Fridays and Saturdays.

Their restaurant has a very homey feel with its rustic walls and wooden furniture. It’s rather dark inside but the lighting works well depending on where you are seated. Adorning the walls, you will find pictures of some of their most popular dishes which gives you an idea of what to order if it’s your first time visiting.
Pho Pad Thai’s menu is divided into sections; appetizers, noodle soups, rice plates, curry dishes and others. They also have sides to complete your meal.

A good start to the meal is with a spring roll appetizer. They are made of your usual vegetables with rice vermicelli noodles, and shrimp, all nicely wrapped in a thin slice of rice paper. This dish is not too filling and it’s a nice snack to enjoy as you wait.

For the main course, it has to be Pad Thai which is in their name. It’s a decent-sized dish with generous amounts of shrimp, chicken and peanuts. It comes with flat rice noodles stir-fried in eggs, fish sauce and pepper. You can opt to order it spicy or not. Pad Thai is a very common dish but it’s done well here. It’s not overly sweet and the noodles are cooked just right. There is also an option for egg-free Pad Thai if you have allergies or don’t eat eggs.

Yelp/Danica C.
Another honourable mention is the Special Beef Noodle Soup. This is their signature pho which comes with all kinds of toppings including Flank Brisket, Rare Beef, Tripe, Tendon, Beef Balls, all cooked inside the piping hot bone broth. You can get it in three sizes (medium, large, extra-large) with your choice of noodles (fresh or dry). The broth is really flavourful, and it’s hard to not drink up all the broth after you finished your meal.

Yelp/Bonnie I.
For their drink menu, they offer an assortment of various exotic milkshakes flavours including jackfruit, avocado, coconut, taro, lychee, and many others. Plus you can even add tapioca to eat if you want to drink it like a bubble tea.
Pho Pad Thai is a popular restaurant for families, students and locals to come and chat with friends over good food. There’s something on the menu to suit everyone’s taste buds. The prices are reasonable and they even accept credit cards as well as cash so you won’t have any problem paying for your meal. If you’re in the Markham area, definitely give this spot a try!
