Who said dim sum was only reserved for the daytime? At Rol San’s you can get your dim sum fix at any time of the day. This is why this restaurant is one of Chinatown’s most popular late-night dim sum spots. This place has been open since 1994 and has barely changed since then.
They still have the same decor, same staff uniforms, also the infamous plastic tablecloths are still there, but most importantly they still serve up some of the best Chinese cuisines in Chinatown. They are so good, that they are often packed with hungry customers craving for their all-day dim sums.
Just from the storefront alone, you can already tell that this place is legit. Nothing fancy, just a store sign with some LEDs by the window. It may look like a modest Chinese restaurant from the outside, but if you’ve ever been to China, you’ll know that these kinds of restaurants are where the good stuff is at.

As you step inside, you’ll notice a slight contrast compared to its storefront. With its carpeted floors, banquet-style chairs, and painted mural walls, at first glance, you might think (for a second) that this is a fancy banquet hall. However, the plastic tablecloths immediately break this illusion. Overall, the interior is cozy and relaxing with plenty of seating even for larger groups.

Their dim sum menu is not the biggest, as they only have around 54 items. However, you can still expect the staples such as BBQ pork buns, sparerib in black bean sauce, rice rolls, siu mai, and sticky rice in lotus leaf. The price of their dim sums ranges from $4 – $6.

If you are looking for more than just dim sum, they also have a separate menu for their Chinese dishes such as sweet & sour pork, noodle soup, seafood chow mein, and even sizzling plate chicken. These dishes are served all day, so you can get your fill of classic Chinese dishes to go along with your dim sums.

Overall the food here is definitely worth the price. Everything is freshly made and comes out hot and delicious. The service is quick and attentive, but since the place is usually packed, so the server might not be able to attend to you right away. But If you’re looking for an authentic dim sum experience, you can’t go wrong with Rol San.
When you visit be sure to bring cash, as this place is VISA or cash only. They have an ATM inside but there’s a fee, so it’s better to just bring cash.
