Sorauren Avenue Park
Address: 289 Sorauren Ave, Toronto, ON M6R 2G4
Sorauren Park is a popular park in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood. For many years, this park has been a favourite hang-out location for many Torontonians to enjoy the sun and have group meetings, thanks to its beautiful view of the CN Tower. If you want to be active, the park has athletic grounds such as tennis courts and baseball diamonds. Sorauren Park is also one of the best parks for kids during the summer since it has a kids programme, Friends of Sorauren Park, where your kids can enjoy fun picnics and movie nights.
Things To Do
If you wish to be more active this summer or in the next fall season, Sorauren has a variety of athletic facilities to choose from. There are two tennis courts, a soccer field, an ice rink, and a baseball diamond with benches where you can watch your local baseball teams and practise your athletic skills.
Picnics, biking (there is a bike share at the park), skating, jogging, and dog walking are some of the other activities you can do at the park. There is also a dog off-leash area for your dogs to play around freely.
Let’s not forget the annual pumpkin parade, which takes place on November 1st in Sorauren Park. You can bring your carved pumpkins and line them up with other creatively decorated pumpkins from the community; it’s a sight to see at night and perfect for photos. Don’t miss out on this fun event next Halloween.
On Mondays from 3 to 7 p.m., there is also a weekly farmers market at the park. You may buy vegetables, mushrooms, bread, meats, and a variety of other items that are suitable for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. They even sell ready-made meals such as pizza. It’s a popular spot, so there could be some lineups, so arrive early if you intend to buy a lot of items.
There is lots of free street parking around the park and paid parking nearby, such as Green P.
Sorauren Park is your typical Toronto park, with a large number of people flocking to enjoy their leisure time among various groups of individuals. Whether you enjoy playing sports, taking pictures on the clean grassy fields, or participating in an annual event, this park has it all.
