Thai Barn Na is a new Thai restaurant that opened near Etobicoke Creek. They serve all the classic dishes that you would expect to find on any good Thai menu including pad Thai, curry noodle soup, green curry with chicken or beef, khao soi as well as a few unique items such as Thai fried chicken and shrimp chips. There are plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options too, so no one will go hungry!

The inside of the restaurant is not the biggest but still has enough seating to fit around 30 people. However, they also have a small patio area by the storefront for extra seating, which is perfect for the summer months. Since the restaurant is still quite new, the space is quite bare with white brick walls, white floor tiles and few hanging light fixtures. The counter, however, is nicely designed with a wooden themed finish which adds to the coziness of the space.
The menu offered here is quite extensive with the classic starters, curries, stir-fries, noodles & rice, and an assortment of Thai beverages. For most of the items on the menu, you can customize the spice level from No Spice all the way to Thai Spicy. The price of the dishes ranges from $13-$16, but if you want a better deal you can check out their lunch specials ($10.95) which are available Mon – Fri from 11:30 am – 3:00 pm.

A good starter is their house special fried chicken which is a crispy fried chicken coated in their signature sweet chilli garlic sauce and topped with spring onions. The chicken was tender on the inside and crispy on the outside while the sauce added a nice spicy sweetness to the dish.

To follow, a good choice is their khao soi, which is a dish made from egg noodles in a curry-like soup topped with crispy fried noodles, pickled veggies and served with your choice of protein (tofu, chicken, beef+2). This popular northern Thai dish never disappoints! The broth was rich and creamy while the crispy noodles added a nice crunch to each bite.

For drinks, you have to try the Thai iced tea which is a sweet and creamy blend of black tea, coconut milk and condensed milk. A good choice for those who don’t like overly strong teas!
For a more unique drink, try their Thai iced lemonade tea which is a combination of lemonade and Thai tea. It has a strong iced tea flavour but will leave you wanting more!
Thai Barn Na is definitely a nice addition for Thai cuisine in Etobicoke! It has a nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food that is reasonably priced. Be sure to check it out if you’re ever in the area!
