Urban Hakka is a casual restaurant with three locations in the Greater Toronto Area. They offer quick takeout and delivery services with a variety of dishes to choose from pakoras to noodles. The price of this restaurant ranges from $7 – $14. The Hakka cuisine here uses Chinese-style cooking that is heavily influenced by Indian cuisine. This place has a relaxing vibe perfect for a quiet dine-in with friends or family.

This restaurant prides itself on its modern look. They go for darker colours to create a serene environment for a more refined dining experience. This place is still very brightly lit with the light fixtures on the ceiling. Plus natural sunlight makes its way in through the large glass panelled windows out front. The black tablecloths add a nice touch to the ambience of the place and give it a more refined look. Everything from the hardwood floors to the painting on the wall screams modern.

We recommend starting off with the lollipop chicken at this restaurant. For $11, you’ll get a tender appetizer that’s marinated with garlic, chilli and soy sauce. You can eat the 8 pieces yourself or share them around the table. This dish is very crispy and the presentation is very beautiful as well. You’ll also be served a side of sauce to elevate the flavours of this dish.

If you’re looking to have a full meal why not try the chow mein noodles. This dish is prepared with a mixture of meat and vegetables in Hakka-style cooking to give it its signature taste. For $10, you get a generously portioned dish that is both colourful and mouth-wateringly good. The noodles have a smokey flavour and they also have a bit of spice added to them. You’ll find yourself falling in love with this dish with every bite.

You could end your meal with some crispy wontons. The thin wrapping is made with flour, eggs, water, and salt. They are filled to the brim with meat and vegetables. Plus this dish is served with two types of sauces, so you can adjust the level of heat to your liking. While this dish gets a lot of flavour from the filling, it is not overwhelmingly spicy. In fact, if you can even enjoy it just as it is for a milder taste.
Urban Hakka has it all flavourful appetizers, filling dishes and sweet desserts. They are a good place to visit if you’re looking for high-quality Hakka cuisine. You could have their food in-house or as delivery and it would still be amazing.
