Ward’s Island beach is one of the quietest beaches on Toronto Island. Located on the east side of the Island, Ward’s Island is part of the small residential community with approximately 260 homes and over 600 residents. Ward’s Island has a peaceful beach with a blue flag certification and it’s listed as a top spot to see the birds’ biodiversity in the city.

To visit Ward’s Island, you can take a ferry from Jack Layton Ferry Terminal on the Central Toronto Waterfront to Ward’s Island. You also have the option of taking a private water taxi or tender, but the majority of visitors take the public ferry.

Ward’s Island is a perfect place to get away from the crowded part of Toronto Island. This place has a reputation of being quiet and has one of the best views of Lake Ontario. The spot is perfect for relaxing, riding bikes, or having a picnic with your friends and family. The Ward’s Island beach is found at the start of the boardwalk, near a small playground and washrooms, and it’s the least busy of the three beaches on the Island.This beach can definitely be a little getaway from the city. Ward’s Island offers many amenities such as Washroom facilities, changing rooms, bike trail, ball diamond, playground, drinking fountain, gazebo, picnic grass site, and even a cafe to make your experience here even sweeter. The location is also known as a good spot for fishing and the Toronto Skyline view.
